Like most Louisiana Lawyers, I am a commissioned Notary. I also taught the Notary Preparation course for Southeastern Louisiana’s Walker Campus before the 2016 flood. My students enjoyed a much better than average passage rate, and I’d like to think this is related to the knowledge and skill I was able to pass on to them.
Louisiana notaries are different than notaries in other states. We are heirs to the Civil Law system where notaries were a kind of Attorney. While a law degree is no longer required to be a Louisiana Notary, there is a difficult test you must pass to be commissioned.
This wealth of technical knowledge combined with the skill and expertise of a licensed lawyer is a valuable asset. Please come visit with me to see if a notarial document is right for you.
I am available for mobile notary services, sometimes called travel notary services. This means I am come to you, or to your client, to do the notarizing. I’ve done this for Concealed Permit classes, mortgages, conveyances, and other notarial and authentic acts. I do not draft these documents, but I am able to print letter and legal size documents. Please contact me to arrange for my services.
